HSG/MDS SYMPOSIA

Since 1987, the Parkinson's Study Group (PSG) and Movement Disorders Society (MDS) have co-sponsored an annual symposia on "Etiology, Pathogenesis and Treatment of Parkinson's Disease" and "Hyperkinetic Movement Disorders," preceding the annual meeting of the American Neurological Association. These annual symposia consist of peer-reviewed platform and poster presentations designed to communicate recent research advances in the fields of Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders to professionals in neurology and related disciplines. On October 18, 1998, the HSG, in cooperation with the Movement Disorders Society (MDS), chaired by Mark Guttman, MD, and his committee of J. Timothy Greenamyre, MD, PhD, Kathleen Shannon, MD, and Carol Moskowitz, RN, sponsored a symposium on the Etiology, Pathology, and Treatment of Huntington's Disease. Abstracts of platform and poster presentations for this were published in the September 1998 issue of Movement Disorders.
